Festival of Trees

First off, let's just pretend that I have blogged more than just lame pictures lately... Ok? Right. Well, last night Brad and I went to the Festival of Trees Opening Night (thanks mom and dad Prestwich for the tickets!) and had a lot of fun. If you are interested in going, it is this week only (Dec 3-6) at the South Towne Expo Center. Anyway, we got to see the official lighting of all the beautiful (and very creative) trees, visit the gift shop, and look at all the gingerbread houses! I didn't take very many pictures, but here are a few.

This tree was made out of shotgun shells (yes MADE out of, not decorated with). Each one was hand cut. I was very impressed.

This gingerbread castle was HUGE! And smelled very yummy. Sorry it is a little blurry.

According to Brad, this is what the Candy Land board looks like (he is the Candy Land expert in our family, thanks to his younger siblings). I'll take his word for it.

This elf (and the 2 others with it) freaked Brad out. I just thought they were funny.

This is one of the things we bought from the gift shop. I LOVE it. We didn't have a nativity and our small apartment is limited on decorating space, so when Brad found this, I just had to get it.

Derrick and I got to go to the festival of trees courtesy of the Prestwich parents awhile ago. I think it was just a bit before we were engaged. It was very impressive. The nativity is really cute and a good way to have one in small space. It'll also be easy to store:)

I love the Festival of Trees! So much to see and what to come home and make. Anybody know how to make shotgun shells?

I totally agree with Brad: that elf is weird.
