"Am I Actually Supposed to Listen to Beethoven?"

After work today, as I was walking to campus to meet up with Brad, I had an amusing experience. For about 10 minutes this girl was walking about 10 feet behind me talking on the phone to her friend about a boy. . . who she is basically stalking. . . while he takes tests in the music room of the testing center. . . where she works.

To be honest, I'm a big eavesdropper. So it is no surprise that I started listening in on her conversation. Which went something like this:

. . . he had a hat on so I couldn't see his hair, but it looked dark, which is an automatic plus. Also, he was so tan. But not fake baking, 'I'm Arnold Schwarzenegger' type of tan, but this is what my parent's skin looks like tan. . . Yeah, I know I am basically stalking him. But what else am I supposed to do while proctoring a test in the music room? Am I actually supposed to listen to Beethoven? . . . Anyway, he also had these broad shoulders. But not the type of broad shoulders that you get from working out. He was built but more natural looking. And he had this thin waist that looked awesome in his tight, but not too tight, plain white t-shirt. Which was fruit of the loom. I saw his tag. . . Oh, and his pants were perfect. They were tight in the back and then loose in the leg, like a boot cut jean. . . Oh come on, you know a guy either has a butt or he doesn't, you at least have to agree with that. . . and his shoes were vans like my checker ones only his were plaid. . . When he first came in and I was just standing in the corner of the room I totally started drooling. He took his jacket off and because of his tight white shirt I could see all of his muscles move that you don't normally see. It was hot. After he took his jacket off he also took his shoes off, which is totally what I do when I am about to take a test! . . . I walked past him at one point and he looked up and smiled at me and I swear everyone in the room could hear my heart beating against my chest. . .
And that is where we parted ways. I was trying so hard not to laugh. I hope I never sounded like that when I talked about boys. . .

Trust me, I'm sure you never did. It's girls like these that give us others such an embarrassing reputation. And yet they still all get married by 20...21. Really--are there that many guys who like that?! Well-obviously there are. I knew I was doomed.

Oh my word...I seriously would have had to say something. That's absolutely comical AND ridiculous.

That boy sounds like a dream, LOL. I wonder if the person on the other line was getting bored. That's the longest description of a person I've ever heard. That's pretty entertaining though. I love eavesdropping, too.

But how were his eyes, Jess? Seriously, couldn't you follow the girl for awhile? Inquiring minds need to know!

Maren,
I actually did hear somewhat about the eyes as we were parting ways. But I didn't catch enough of it to do them justice... so I just left that part out. Sorry. :)

I had to laugh at this post. I am an eavesdropper too at times, especially on a college campus...there is never a dull moment.

Wait...people take off their shoes when taking tests? How did I not know this? ;)

That's very funny. I eavesdrop all the time at work. I can't help it when there is only a 6 foot high cubicle wall between me and the others. I hear all kinds of things about the stock market and hunting and ATV's from the WAN guys that sit on the other aisle. Sometimes it is quite entertaining, but not when I'm trying to concentrate on my work. Some of them talk very loud. I wonder what they think when they hear me I'm talking on the phone and to others I work with.

I love it! You all know that was you at one time or another! Like probably NOT in collage, maybe in High School... I always loved friends like that- I mean I need details, what can I say? Oh those little crushes, they were fun!! Not that I would trade my Piece of Burnin Love for that again, but they were fun.
