My Testimony

I'm getting out of my comfort zone and posting something I wrote down this morning before church: my testimony. I didn't share it at church but still wanted to, in essence, bear my testimony today.

I know that Jesus is my Savior. I know that He lived and died for us. I know that through Him, I can be with my family forever; that I can be with my Heavenly Father again; that I can find eternal peace and happiness.

I know that this life isn’t meant to be easy. It is meant to challenge us, to help us grow, to stretch our spirits until we can become more like our Savior.

While this life isn’t easy (most of the time), I know that Christ is there for us. He is there to help us in our trials; to comfort our hearts, to send peace to our souls, to guide our lives. If we listen and submit our wills to the will of the Father, we can reach our full potentials as heavenly beings. We may not always get what we want in this life, even if what we want is good and righteous. That doesn’t mean we aren’t loved by our Heavenly Father and our Savior. It just means we have some more growing to do. It means our plans for this life aren’t necessarily what God has planned for us, or at least planned for us right now. Maybe we need to learn patience; or to rely more on our Savior; or perhaps we need these trials so that we can help and succor others who may be experiencing the same things.

We may not always know why we face the challenges and trials that we do, but I know that we are not alone in this journey. We have a Father who loves us and wants us to reach our full potential as exalted beings. We have a Brother who is helping us in every way imaginable; we just have to let Him help us.
