The Ohio

I'm not sure if everyone has heard (but pretty sure most have) but Brad and I are moving this summer (probably in July) to Columbus, Ohio (most likely anyway). For the past couple of months I have been dreading moving away from my family (I'm not sure what I'm gonna do without my sisters) but suddenly I am really excited. Like super excited. I can't wait to leave.

I can't wait to have our own space again. I can't wait to start the next phase of our lives. I can't wait to try something new. I can't wait until I hopefully have more time to craft. I can't wait. Yes, I am going to miss my sisters and our families... but I try not to think about that part.

I've already started looking for a job and housing in Columbus, in the hopes that if I find either one sooner we could move before July. But maybe I should wait until Brad finishes at BYU... I think I might be getting a little ahead of myself.

I just hope this excitement lasts so that moving away from the only state I have ever lived in doesn't feel so tragic.

Good luck with all the goes into moving. We're still working on all that. It's so exciting you guys have a good option so you know you'll be going somewhere. It was fun seeing you on Saturday.

Oh my gosh, that's so exciting!!! Seriously. It's scary, but I think you'll really love parts of moving to a completely new place. :)

I am so excited for you guys!!! I loved hanging out with you over the weekend. Maybe Bradley can just hurry a little sooner with school. Who says he needs to wait for the semester to end? :P

I've been to Columbus a few times. I think you'll like it. It is pretty hot and humid in the summer though. I have a couple former bosses from Discover Card who are in the Columbus area. Discover Card is there, although I wouldn't endorse working there since I didn't like how they treated me by laying me off 3 years ago. Ohio State is supposed to be a great medical school so that's an awesome choice.

I didn't know! You are so close to my old stomping grounds. The Columbus temple was announced just as our family was moving away from WV. It would have been only 1.5 hours away instead of 8. *sigh*

I think you'll like Ohio. And you'll finally be able to see one of those autumns that you know I'm so fond of. Plus, you could visit some Ohio church history sites!

I'm excited for you. This will be awesome!

How exciting! That's great that you know where you're going next and get a new adventure. We're leaving Utah (going who knows where) after Scott graduates next year. I know it's going to be difficult for me to leave our families but then it will be exciting too. I think I'll feel the same as you do about the whole thing. Good luck with all of the arrangements!

Did you know that OSU is where I went to grad school in 2007-2008? Not sure if you have any great ideas for housing already but a lot of the LDS married students live in Westborough Village (http://www.apartmentguide.com/apartments/Ohio/Columbus/Westborough-Village/12713/) Be careful about choosing housing---there are some scary areas in Columbus (even near campus), you want to be sure you are in a good neighborhood.

Thanks everyone!

Anna, that is the exact complex I already had my eye on! I hope there is an opening in July because I am already attached. :)

Hooray for adventure!

Jess--if things don't work out with that complex I know of another place. It's actually the place Joe and I lived when we were in Ohio--half of a house. Our favorite friends in Ohio--the Beazers, live in the other half. They are wonderful!!! So if it doesn't work out with that apt complex let me know and I'll get you in touch with our friends about that house. It's on a tree lined street, near a bus stop for campus, near a park/parkway for walks. So exciting your adventure!
