We are officially a one car family, as of Tuesday, when we took our bright blue Forester rental back. (So what if driving the Forester got me funny looks from passersby, I still liked driving it... I mean, it had ac AND a radio - luxuries my car did not.) We should be receiving our check from the insurance company soon (because, yes, the car was totaled), and let me tell you, we were happily surprised by the amount they offered (no blue book value for us - they gave us the market value! yay! which, um, is actually more than I originally paid for the car...). With the money we won't be purchasing another car. Not yet anyway. We figure it would be better for us right now to save it. Plus, we live so close to campus where we both work and where Brad goes to school, so we can just suck it up and carpool - live like the poor college students we are.

In other news, as an experiment I've gone off my muscle relaxers (maybe I should have consulted my doctor first... oh well). I hate being medicated and I am wanting to see if I actually still need to be taking them. I'm on day 2 and so far I only have a mildly stiff neck (which is a major improvement over what I was experiencing pre-muscle relaxers). Hopefully things won't get worse and that I won't feel the need to start taking them again. I can already feel the side effects of the medication wearing off (I'm not as moody, nauseous, groggy, out-of-it, etc) and it is wonderful!!

I hope that you feel okay as all of the medication gets out of your system. Good luck with only having one car. I did it for a long time (26 years) and it was okay...even though I now LOVE having a 2nd car. I'm glad you got a good amt of money for it. That is really nice!

I love my Subaru and I love men but I don't drive a Forester. I'm glad you got a good amount of $ for your car. I went to BYU 5 years without a car.

@ Jess--

Yes, we can still be friends. I actually will eat there if that's where other people want to go. I just get a cup of egg drop soup and an egg roll; it's not that I don't like cheap Chinese food, it just never fails to make me SO SO SO SICK! For WEEKS not just a couple of days.

And England is beautiful. One day I'll be wealthy enough to go back again. I absolutely LOVED it and some of my very favorite people live there; ;therefore, I HAVE TO GO BACK!
