Lesson Learned

Yesterday, as I was browsing one of my favorite websites, I ran across a tutorial for this:

It instantly looked familiar and I was trying to rack my brains as to why. Then it hit me. I had made up my own, very similar, version last year for a friend (when I had a very short-lived obsession with yo-yos). If only I had realized the potential of my own pincushion creation. I could have had a claim to fame. I could have been on One Pretty Thing. As it stands, Amazing Mae beat me to the punch. She was smart enough to realize that a pincushion tutorial is worth writing and sharing with the craft world, therefore she deserves the fame. Good job Mae!

Oh, I think I like yours better. I like the colors and the button you chose. Both are very cute though. Next time you come up with something, you better get it out there.

i agree with Lizzy. I are always thinking of new crafty things, now you know what to do with them. I love yours more, too, super cute.

Your version is equally if not more cute! I wish I was half as creative as you are!

I bet YOU'RE cute than that Mae person, too.

Very cute! That reminds me about a quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson and how we don't always appreciate our own ideas, and then we see someone else do the same thing and then we wished that we realized we had a great idea in the first place...
