moment of weakness

Here I am, at work, and bored.

It's been about a month since I last played any computer games. To be honest, I'm really proud of myself. Playing computer games (mostly spider solitaire) is/was an enjoyable way for me to waste my precious time.

Surprisingly, giving up spider solitaire (and the occasional internet tetris) has not been as hard as I thought it would be. I've only had a few really strong temptations, usually when bored or needing a good distraction from homework, but I've been able to overcome.

You may ask: "Jess, why do you want to give up spider solitaire (and other various computer games)?" or "Why do you feel the need to deprive yourself of something so innocent and enjoyable?"

Good questions. The answer: I have no idea why I decided to quit. I think originally it might have been an attempt to not waste so much time and to prove to myself that I wasn't addicted. But now... I think I just want to see how long I can go without playing...

And now, here I am , at work, and bored. With 2 hrs left and a temptation to play...

I think blogging is as good a way as any to help you overcome your need to play solitaire. Whenever you're feeling moments of temptation, you just sign yourself into blogger and share your thoughts and feelings. And you can be sure I'll be on the other side of the keyboard to tell you you're doing a great job.

You're doing a great job.

I, for one, say give in. Kidding. I'd rather you blog anyday than play games. You could also file your nails, write down some goals, draw your dream house, memorize a scripture. Call a sister or three... How could you possibly be bored?

Yeah Jess, I haven't heard from you in like a day. A phone call would be lovely! I want to know, too, did you give in? Love ya!
