some random thoughts

Tonight Brad and I get to go to his pre-med club meeting where Elder Nelson is speaking! Awesome huh?! I can't wait to hear what he has to say!

I know it isn't the weekend yet but I am excited for it to come. On Saturday is our 6 month wedding anniversary (yay!) so I've decided I want to make a yummy dinner (not meaning to say that normally I try to make gross dinners...). The tentative menu: orange-glazed chicken and fried rice. I'm pretty excited. Mmmm....

It needs to warm up. Really it does.

The book A Man Named Dave is pretty depressing... thus far anyway. It's the sequel to A Child Called "It" and The Lost Boy. I have to read it for my Family and the Law class and it is about this guy who was severely abused by his mother as a child and his struggles to move on as an adult. As of right now (but I'm only on page 98 of 339) it's not very uplifting. But it's been an eye-opener on some of the struggles many people have to suffer through and it's made me appreciate that my mom never made me drink a concoction of bleach and ammonia.

I still have no idea what I want to do after I graduate. It's probably a good thing I'm planning on postponing graduation until August so I have more time to figure things out.

I love reading Maren's blog. It makes me so happy. I think she's amazing.

After my dream last night, when Brad won a video-game console and almost won a giant ninja turtle shaped console (but instead won speakers), I'm glad that they don't make giant ninja turtle shaped video-game consoles... at least that I'm aware of.

I'm addicted to Lost. It's true. Brad and I started watching the show from season 1 a few weeks ago because I hadn't seen any of them. And now I just can't get enough. So far my favorite characters are Charlie and Claire. I want them to fall in love and raise her baby together (I don't know what happens between them so don't tell me!). Is that so much to ask? Oh, I also love Locke. He's so wise and knows how to do everything.

Oh, I'm so glad you started watching LOST! We are addicted to it at our house. Don't watch any new episodes until you're caught up, unless you like spoilers! Big time spoilers!

And I have a yummy orange chicken recipe. Well, John does. I've never actually made it from scratch. I just buy it from Costco. But he has and it is delicious! Let me know if you want it.

Good luck with your dinner. It sounds yummy! You've got a lot to look forward to, what with Elder Nelson talking and your anniversary. And the book about Dave. Did you have to read the first one? I read the first one and it was depressing enough that I didn't go on to the second one. It's not any better, huh? And thanks for saying you like my blog! You really are too nice. But I love you anyway! Have a great weekend!

I'm sad that I didn't win the ninja turtle console. What a depressing dream.

Ooh! I love your new background...it reminds me of spring..! *sigh* I miss the sun... Amen to the necessity of warmer weather!!

And I'm sorry you have to read depressing books for school...I had to read Kite Runner last year. While it was good and I could appreciate its literary merit, it just was disturbing! So I feel for ya

I am a LOST addict myself. I have all 3 seasons on DVD and have watched all the episodes so far this season (I have them recorded on my DVR). None of my co-workers watch it so I call my former co-worker, Paul, each Friday to discuss the previous night's episode. I think it's the best show ever, but if you try to watch it now without seeing all the past episodes, you'll definitely be LOST

Okay, you need to read MY SISTER'S KEEPER. Now there's an interesting book for your Family/Law class. Seriously, it's a good one! It's not exactly uplifting, but it's totally better than the "IT" books as I call them that just make you want to cry and give the kid a hug.
